A Poem

Dark Eyes

The world I wish to live in
Is warm,
Good,
Kind,
Friendly.

The only problem with the golden rule
Is that not everyone follows it
And some prefer to be treated badly.

It is an easier life to be out for number one.
To hide fear behind hatred.

I don't want to look into the eyes of the dark man
And have to overcome racism.
But it is too late.

For Now;
I can only hope that my children,
And his,
Will live in such freedom,
And devote my destiny
To making it happen.
